Event on Campus: There will be a Middle East Social Hour from 9:30AM-10:30AM in the Boren Lounge in Farzaneh Hall; it's a chance to meet Jack Tannous, a professor from Princeton who specializes in the history of Syriac Christianity and the Arabic Bible; he is one of the founders of the syri.acwebsite (details). While reviewing this weeks announcements I came across this meme. I can definitely appreciate some punctuation humor. I am guilty of using or not using punctuation correctly, especial apostrophes. Naturally we should all read the lass announcements each week, but sometimes life can get busy. You can review this weeks announcements as well others anytime throughout the semester.

As this infographic explains, "There are at least 7,102 known languages alive in the world today. Twenty-three of these languages are a mother tongue for more than 50 million people. The 23 languages make up the native tongue of 4.1 billion people. We represent each language within black borders and then provide the number of native speakers (in millions) by country. Review: Word of the day "Achilles' Heel

From this weeks announcements here's a beautiful mosaic that shows Achilles' mother, Thetis, the sea goddess:

It is funny that Achilles' Heel is the word of the day because I just finished the movie Troy, which features Achilles.' Greek and Roman sculptures are very beautiful and mysterious.

Review : Humorous Class Announcement, Week 2

Anyone who knows me might think that it is funny that I have a picture of a cat on my blog because I really do not care for cats. I am absolutely a dog lover, but this weeks announcement meme fits me. I am not a morning person and can be very grumpy in the morning; especially if I get woke up before my alarm.
